Democritus
400 B.C. Democritus made science and math theories. His model showed the atom, it showed it was one sphere which varied with element. He made no experiments. -
400
Aristotle
Aristotle believed earth, air, fire, and water were the only elements. He did not preform an experiment. He created his modle to show earth, fire, air, and water. -
John dalton
Dalton created the atomic theory. there were 5 postulates to it. His modle was made to show that he thought the atom was just a circle like democritus had thought. -
Marie & pierre Curie
They both believed the atom was planet likie and had many electron rings. -
J.J Thomson
Thomson discoered the electron. He discovered it with his experiment Perrin Tube. His model of the atom was to show the electrons and where he believed them to be. -
Henri Becquerel
Becquerel discovered radioactivitie febuary of 1896. He performed an experiment which he exposed a uranium-bearing crystal to sunlight. After a while of being exposed to the sunlight he then placed it on a photographic plate. He then claimed that it was being released in x-rays. -
Robert Millikan
Millkan discovered the charge of the electron. He discivered it with the oil drop experiment. in either 1909 or 1913 ( I keep seeing both dates in a lot of places) He created his version of the atom to show the charges of the proton and nuetron. -
Ernest Rutherford
Rutherford discovered the nucleus with his gold foil experiment. His atom model was to show the nucleus in the atom which he discovered. -
Niels Bohr
Borhr created the planetary model first. He created his atom model to show there were rings around the atom. -
Quantum model
This the model of the atom we use today. It was made to show the nuceus was the protons and nuetrons in the middle. with electrons around it. -
James Chadwick
Chadwick discovered the nuetron and that its .01 bigger than the proton. He discoved it with an experiment where he released beryuiums radient gas into paraffin wax and saw the nuetrual paricals. He made his model to show the nuetron partical which he discovered.
