coloring books where I got to fill in the pictures with Cinderella dress and fill in the tigers lines is what helped me fall in love with reading. Pop up Books made turning the pages so fun and so excited to read. -
The rainbow fish/Chicka chicka boom boom
The rainbow fish was one of my favorite books to read in elementary school. I remember loving the scales of the fish and reading the story over and over again. Chicka chicka boom boom was a fun wordy book I liked to read. -
Shel Siverstein
I will never forget the first time I read "Where The Side Walk Ends" by Shel Silverstien. I was hooked on poetry. I remember having to dissect poetry and I loved the different kinds of poems and learning about them all. This is when I realized my favorite unit in reading was the poetry unit. -
The Giving Tree
The giving tree is by far one of the best books ever. This is what made me love reading but a certain style of reading.I will ,and forever will use this book to reference in my life. This is what made me love to see the symbolism in books and to keep an eye out for things like this. A story with a poetic theme. Absolute heaven. -
On my Honor
My 5th grade class was a lot of fun. He always pushed us to read harder books than needed to at our level. On my honor was the first chapter book I was hooked on. The storyline was great and having a suspense book outside of my normal "poetic" book was a nice change. -
Edgar Allen Poe
Short stories came into play in my reading time during 6th grade. Edgar Allen Poe short story "A Tell Tale Heart" was a story I loved during halloween. I remember my reading Teacher, Mrs.Olson would also play along the Tape read along and help teach us how to read with "intensity" -

The Poetry Notebook
Mr. Hoffman my 8th grade English teach is the main reason why I wished to become a English teacher. He had us search up different kind of poems and writing styles and read tons of books on poetry. We then had to have a huge binder full with poems written by us. It was loads of fun. -
Mitch Alboom / A catcher in the rye
Mitch Alboom writing made me fall in love with reading all over again. Freshman and sophomore year (2006-2008) reading wasn't as inspiring as my other school years. One I got into my junior year of HS and read "Tuesday's With Morrie" "The 5 people you meet in heaven" I fell in love with poetic books all over again. Books with a meaning that helps people become them selfs. A catcher in the rye was a book that I also read and loved during this year. -
Creative writing Class
Mr.Winkler creative writing class is my second teacher who made me want to become an English teacher. He would have us write short stories all the time and read others and proof read them. The whole writing process was a joy and reading the stories was just a plus. -
Shakespeare
Alas! The last and final reading topic that made me love reading even more was Shakespeare.Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet and many more made me love with a Victorian English style books/plays.
