Kimba the White Lion was a show that was made in 1965 and actually influenced the creator of The Lion King to create the movie. It has been referred to as the original of the two, and is known for its resemblance. After this Disney also affected Anime in the same way, as in the style of anime was given bigger eyes and features and softer edges later on. -
Space Opera Anime
A popular genre that appeared in the rise of anime was also Space Operas. The dramaticness and futuristic aesthetic of these shows were one of the most desired in the whole industry. One of the most popular ones was Space Pirate Captain Harlock made in 1977. -

A popular genre that emerged was Mecha. This was likely due to the world being obsessed with futurism and shows like The Twilight Zone. If you think of something like Transformers, it was essentially something like that. This anime was made by studio Ghibli in 1988 (the most popular animation studio in japan and around the world) and was based on the real events of World War 2. It was very realistic in the sense that it was accurate, and emotionally devastating. This movie was in the golden age era, and is considered a masterpiece by many. It is still praised to this day. -

Anime nowadays still has been influenced by people and historical events, such as earthquakes, wars, middle ages, sports, science, etc. And by people as well. There are many pop culture references in most anime today. Now that anime is worldwide, people have also been influenced by the shows that were influenced by people. We owe so many things like cosplay, makeup, fashion, conventions, genres of music, and social media trends to anime.
