    Germany lost the war to the allies and had to sign the Treaty of Versailles. As a result, Germany had to cut down on their armed forces, give up German land and had to pay up large amounts (reparations). This damaged the economy and shook the already unstable leadership.

    In September 1919, Adolf Hitler joins Germany Worker Party. Which later was known as the Nazis. This was the beginning of an historical event that will later change the world.

This latter must not occur; even if we are small, we are a force. A well-organized group can conquer a strong enemy. If you stick close together and keep bringing in new people, we will be victorious over the Jews."

    In 1923, Hitler and his new supporters attempted to over throw the government in Munich. He was tried for treason and sentenced to a year in prison. This event caused Hitler to become a popular public figure.

    While in prison, Hitler began writing his own book promoting propaganda. This book consisted of his plans for Germany and what he thought Germany needed.

    The Great Depression hit Germany and destroyed the economy the ground. Hitler used this to his advantage and took advantage of the German people. He continued to criticize German leadership

    In the 1932, the Nazi party was able to win majority of seats in parliament. Hitler lost his run for presidency but his popularity persuaded German president to appoint Hitler as Chancellor.

    After Hitler was appointed chancellor. He made the military three times bigger. Other political parties were banned. Nazi party leaders were being executed. Jews were targeted and were handed harsh extreme rules. They couldn't work or be seen in public.

    The first concentration camp was opened in Dachau 1933. It was the home to political prisoners. Hitler as chancellor banned all other political parties. This camp eventually became a death camp with thousands of Jews being killed here.

    Von Hindenburg died in 1934. This was the Nazis chance to completely take over the government. Hitler announced himself as controller of Germany Fuhrer. Germany was in his control and he wanted to complete his plan of global domination. This lead to the path of WW2.
