A Yeoman referred to a middle class English group of men that popularized these primarily brick houses. These houses were usually one room wide and four rooms long. -
Georgian Colonial Houses
Georgian Colonial houses were first popularized in England, taking inspiration from Renaissance art. Many of the US's historical buildings take this style, such as the White House. -
Row Houses
Row houses were thin, tall houses all linked through shared sidewalks. These houses were usually owned by city factory workers and could house many families. -
Victorian House
During the industrial revolution, manufacturing high quality houses was much easier than ever before. Victorian houses were often colorful and featured intricate details. -
Craftsman House
The Arts and Crafts Movement that popularized a handcrafted aesthetic, bringing about this housing design. Original craftsman designs come directly from Gustav Stickley's blueprints. -
Housing during the Great Depression
During the Great Depression, many people couldn't afford housing. This led to the government factory producing small houses for homeless families. -
