John Endecott leads the first expedition to Salem. He came aboard the ship Abigail with around 50 "planters and servants"

House of the Seven Gables is built
In 1667 the House of the Seven Gables is built in Salem, Massachusetts for Captin John Turner. The orginal house had two and a half floors and only two rooms.

Additions made to the House of Seven Gables
John Tuner made a large addition to the house. This addtion was done to the front (south) of the house. It included parlor on the ground floor with a bedroom above it. The addition had its own large chimmeny. The roof is a three gable garret.

Small addition made to the house
It was orginally thought the John II made a large addition the house in form of an kitchen ell. Further research has shown that a small addition was made in the form of a brewing room.
