Homer was a blind poet who has said to live somewhere back in 850 B.C. He was famous for writing about the Trojan War in his two epics, the Illiad and the Odyssey. -
Trojan War
A war that has been seen greatly through Greek Literature. The war was fought between Sparta and Troy after paris (king of Troy) stole Helen (Queen of Sparta) from the king of Sparta, Menelaus. -
Trojan horse
The Trojan Horse was a suprise attack on Troy by the greeks. The greeks sailed away pretending to surrender the war and left a wooden horse as a "trophy" for Troy. Troy took the trophy in the city but did not know the hidden greeks in the horse. The greeks in the horse escaped at night and opened up the city for the returning greeks to attack the city. -
World War II/ Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor was a suprise attack by the Japanese navy on December 7th, 1941. The japanese fleet included 353 Japanese plane bombers launched by 6 air craft carriers. -
Cold War
After the defeat of Germany, the victors each took a piece of germany to put there government and rebuilding into. Russia and U.S rose to be the two strongest powers in the world and fought to see which government would be more popular, communism or Democracy. -
Sputnik Event
Sputnik 1 was a Russian created device that orbited around earth and was used to broadcast radio pulses. The device was a big step in the "Space Race" and caused great fear to american citizens having no idea what it could do.
