    Hitler was a cruel man who believed that the Aryan race was the best race. He started the Holocaust to try and kill many Jews. He gained so much power because he brainwashed all of the Germans. The Germans stock market crashed and many people became poor once they lost WWI so they needed help ad that's what Hitler said he would do. Hitler blamed everything that happened to the Germans on the Jews even though they did nothing.

    Holocaust

    The holocaust is a time in history when a man named Adolf Hitler gained power over the Germans after WWI. Hitler brainwashed all of the Germans and Nazis to believe that it was the Jew's fault that they lost WWI. Hitler then after a while started a big genocide to try and kill all of the Jews and undesireables with guns, gas chambers, putting them in the ghetto, and putting them in concentration camps.

    Hitler gets power of making decisions. After a few months, all other political parties besides the Nazis were eliminated. This allowed Hitler to get rid of all his rivals.
    A boycott is to stop dealing with and stop buying stuff from somewhere to send a message.

    Nazis needed a way to identify Jews so they could discriminate them. Nuremberg Laws defined people with 3 or 4 Jewish Grandparents as "Jewish" and 1 or 2 as "Mixed Blood"

    Kristallnacht is also refereed to "The Night of Broken Glass." This night was the first act of violence when Hitler told the government to go out and burn all of the syn-agogs and destroy all of the Jews property.

    Einsatzgruppen

    As the army advanced into the Soviet Union, these groups would round up Jews from the newly occupied areas and kill them... usually by shooting. Eventually the Nazis moved away from the Einsatzgruppen of "Mobile Killing Units" and planned to use death camps. I think the Nazis stopped doing this because it was wasting bullets that they needed for war.
  • Anne Frank's family goes into hiding

    Anne Frank went into hiding because she and her family were Jews and the Natzis were trying to capture all of the Jews and put them into to concentration camps.
    They went into hiding with the Van Dan family and Mr. Dussel.
    They hid in the attic of Mr. Franks old office.
  • Mr. Dussel moves into the secret annex

    When Mr. Dussel moves into the secret annex with everyone some people have different opinions than others. Mr. Frank is happy to have Mr. Dussel move in. Anne is a little upset about him moving in because she now has to share her room with him. Mr. Vann Daan is kind of worried about not having enough food for everyone.

    After stealing weapons from guards, prisoners tried to escape. Most were killed but a few dozen made it out and survived the war.

    Members of the Sonderkommando working in the crematorium fought SS guards killing over 70, but all 250 as well as 200 others were killed in response.

    Hitler commits suicide rather than face capture by the Soviet Red Army (Hitler commits suicide on April 30th)
    Germany surrenders within a week.
  • Mr. Frank returns to the annex and finds Anne’s Diary

    Mr. Frank comes back to the small annex when the Holocaust is over and he finds Anne's old diary on the floor and begins to cry. This diary is so important to people now a days because it helps them understand what Anne and her family went through during the holocaust.
