Anti-Jewish Boycott
The Nazi leadership staged an economic boycott targeting Jewish-owned businesses and the offices of Jewish professionals. Nazi Storm Troopers stood in front of Jewish-owned department stores and retail establishments, holding signs and shouting slogans such as "Don't Buy From Jews" and "The Jews Are Our Misfortune". It only lasted one day, but it marked the beginning of a nationwide campaign by the Nazi Party against Jews in Germany. -
Law for Re-establishment of the Civil Service
The German government issued this law, which excludes Jews and other political opponents of the Nazis from all civil service positions. The law initially exempts those who had worked in the civil service since August 1, 1914, those who were veterans of World War 1, or those with a father or son killed in action in World War 1. It didn't only just keep Jews from holding civil service, but also university and state positions. -
Burned books written by Jews
On May 10, 1933, university students burn upwards of 25,000 "un-German" books in Berlin's Opera Square. Students threw books pillaged mostly from public and university libraries onto bonfires with great ceremony, band playing, and so-called "fire oaths". The students sought to purify German literature of "foreign", especially Jewish, and other immoral influences. -
Law for the "Prevention of Offspring with Hereditary Diseases"
This law mandated the forced sterilization of certain individuals with physical and mental disabilities. This was mostly used on Jews. They would sterilize the kids without the parents consent, only telling the parents after it was done. If you fought against it, they would beat you until you let them sterilize you. Kids and teenagers had no choice but to do it. -
Hitler becomes president
The German President, Von Hindenburg dies, which led to Hitler becoming president with support from German armed forces. Hitler had made his way through the people that were in his way, he murdered the SA Chief of Staff Ernst Rohm and his top commanders. The only person that was in his way of being leader, was the German President, that was on his way to death anyway. When the president died, Hitler had already earned support from the Army's General Staff. -
The Inspectorate of Concentration Camps is created
This was created by SS chief Himmler, the Inspectorate was going to be lead by SS General Theodor Eicke. This was the mark of the SS takeover and the starting of the concentration camp system. The centralization of the system had taken place in July 1934. -
Jews barred from serving German armed forces
Not only was the Jews held back from all the other jobs they could have, they were banned from joining the armed forces. The German military didn't want any Jews in they're group, so therefore they wouldn't allow it. The Germans wanted nothing to do with them, so now they have taken all jobs away from them. -
Allowing forced abortions
This law was made by the Nazis. They were going to allow forced abortions on any woman who was pregnant. This law was made to prevent them from passing on hereditary diseases. -
"Nuremberg Laws"
This law came with several different rules.The Jews were no longer considered German citizens, so the Jews did not feel welcome at all anymore. The Anti-Jewish racial laws enacted. The Jews could also not marry Aryans, they almost could not marry anyone but their own kind. -
Germany defines a Jew
The rule was , anyone with three or four Jewish grandparents was defined as a Jew. This was regardless what the persons religious was, even if they weren't really Jewish. They did not define them by their religion.
