    After Hitler, so the Nazi party, had come to power in 1933, he targeted groups that did not match his "master race". After he had eliminated communists, socialists, liberals or anyone who spoke out against the government, he started to target Jews, Gypsies, Freemansons, and Jehovah's Witnesses.
  • The final Solution

    The final Solution
    After killing his political enemies Hitler now targeted mainly Jews. They were arranged in their own ghettos, surrounded with barbed wire and stone walls. Jews had to work for German industry and were dying because of the hard work. This lead to the builing of so called conentration camps or labor camps. Jew were loaded on trucks and trains and were bought to their "new homes". In these camps the life of Jews was mainly sleeping and working till they were dead.After death they were just replaced

    On April 7, 1933, shortly after Hitler took power in Germany, he ordered all "non-Aryans" to be removed from government jobs.
  • Anti-Semtism

    For decades many people blamed the Jews for all their faliures. Once Hitler discovered that most of the people were willing to support his hatred against the Jews he started to strip them from jobs, poverty, and their German citizenship by the Nuremberlaws in 1935.

    Then night from the 9th to the 10th of November bacame known as the (Reichs)kristallnacht or "the night of Broken Glass". During this night Nazi storm troopers attacked Jewish homes, buisnesses, and synagogues across Germany. During that night around 100 Jews were killed and about 30,000 Jews were arrested.

    The Plight of the St.Louis
    The German ocean liner filled with Jews, trying to escape from Germany, passed Miami in 1939. Although 740 of the 943 passeners had U.S. imigration papers., the Coast Guard followed the ship t prevent anyone from embarking in Amerika. The ship was forced to return to Europe. More than half of the passengers were later killed in the Holocaust.

    After Hitler had eliminated his main political enimies he started to target Gypsies, Freemansons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Jews. The Jews were hit the hardest. First he started to seperate them by putting them into towns in Poland surrounded by barbed wire and stone walls. There they had poor living conditions and had to work. Then he started to build concentration camps. Many Jews were put there and had to work till they would die from exaustion or hunger. They were crammed into crude barracks.
  • Auschwitz

    In 1941 Germans started to build so called death camps (Vernichtungslager). They built six of them in Poland. The first one was Chelmno . The biggest one was called Auschwitz. When prisoners arrived at Auschwitz they were divided into to groups: those strong enough to work and those who will be killed in the huge gas chambers of these institutions. In big letters over the entry of Auschwitz it said "Arbeit macht frei" (Work makes free). Which was not true of course.
