Ho Chi Minh was born...
Ho chi minh was born around May 19, 1890 as Nguyen Sinh Cung. Ho was born in central Vietnam, in a small village called Kim Lien. Ho's father's name was Nguyen Sinh Sac and mother' name was Hoang Thi Loan. As he grew up Ho got into trouble by the law and alco changed his own name very frequently. later on he will become a president of Vietnam. (Wakin 90). -
The Panama Canal (W.E1)
On November 7th, 1903 The treaty was signed that the U.S controls the Panama canal. It was important to the U.S because it was a easy passage way from the Atlantic ocean to the Pacific ocean. Also, it cut down shipping time and more goods can be shipped faster (Infoplease.com). -
The Model T (W.E2)
Henry Ford first produced the first car called the Model T. This invention was a break through in science and the world. eventually the cars were on an assembly line and made cheaper (histoy.com). -
The First Attemt of Freedom
Ho goes to the Versailles Peace Conference at the end of WW1. Ho went to this because he was there to give a speech that the French should free Vietnam from there rule in front of the U.S president. His speech was named "Nguyen Ai Quoc", in English it means Nguyen Patriotic. However Ho's speech failed but, was not his last attempt at freedom for Vietnam (Wakin 92-93). -
French Party
In 1920's Ho Chi Minh was inspired by Vladimir Lenin's ideas and wanted to lean from them so he joined the French Communist Party.In 1923, he traveled to Moscow in search of a new group later to be called the Indochinese communist party. Later then he will become the spokes person/ reprehensive of this party (britannica.com). -
Indochinese Communist party
In the 1930's, Ho introduced a group called the Indochinese Communist Party in Hong Kong .The group leader was Ho Chi Minh. The effects of this group was astonishing because they did give Vietnam independence from France but starved others and recruited people that did not have the will to fight (Britannica.com). -
The start of weakness
Ho Chi Minh was arrested by British officials in Hong Kong, China. Ho was accused of being a spy. Ho was in prison for 14 months and nearly died of tuberculosis. Ho could not stand the horrible conditions anymore so he escaped the prisons and fled(Wakin 105). -
The Star-Spangled banner (W.E3)
This was the date that the Star-Spangled banner was adopted as the U.S national anthem. The original poem was written during the battle of Fort McHenry by Francis Key-Scott The poem represented Freedom and the hard work of the Americans wanted their freedom(american-historama.org). -
The Thirty-Second President (W.E4)
Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected as our 32 President. Roosevelt was in when the great depression was at its low point. Roosevelt gave Americans a reason to continue fighting for themselves(WhiteHouse.gov). -
Atomic Bomb (W.E5)
The U.S sciences made the first Atomic Bomb and this sparked tensions with other countries. Atomic Bombs changed how warfare is going to be played. Also, this creations kills millions and effects it for many years to come (histoy.com). -
Mr.President of Vietnam
Ho Chi Minh was awarded president of Vietnam because he forced the French out of Vietnam.Ho was loved in North Vietnam. He put together the country and made it the same government as well(GaleGroup.com) -
The First Indochina War
The start of the war was rising in the North between the French and the Viet minh. With only 60,000 troops and only 45,000 guns against the French with a full army of 50,000. The tension grew between them and an all out war broke out. In the end the Viet minh won and the French gave back North Vietnam(Britannica.com) . -
The control of Hanoi
Veit Minh take control of the capital of Vietnam Hanoi. This creates the tension in Southeast Asia that becomes the Vietnam War. The North represented communism government. The South did not approve of that type of government so it raised tension

Sputniks and Laika(W.E6)
Russians launch Sputniks and has the first animal to go into space. Sputniks is the first artificial satellite to be in orbit. Laika is just a street dog that was the first animal to be launched into space (history.com). -
The Ho Chi Minh Trail
The Trail was started on May 9, 1959 and it was used to aid Ho's army to get ammo and food ration. It was 9,940 mi. long and it shipped over 20,000 tons of supplies to the army. The trail abled Ho to take over the rest of Vietnam including Saigon (Gutzman 169). -
The Death of Ho
Ho Chi Minh on September 3,1969 died of a heart attack during his reign of power. Ho was not able to see what he did to his country. The North mourned about his death but others will want to forget him (Wakin 107).
