Connection of the First Computers on ARPANET

Microsoft launches Internet Explorer, partially in response to the creation of Mosaic (from Netscape). -

ICANN stands for Internet Cooperation of Assigned Numbers, with the goal of transitioning DNS from the US Government to industry.
