Sighned on the Mayflower on the Pilgram's way to Plymouth. -

A colony settled by William Bradford and the Pilgrams, it was settled for religous freedom.

Colony settled by William Penn.
It was known as a place where quakers could live in peace. -
French and Indian War
The French and the Indians were fighting against England and the colonies, ends in 1763.
The French lose the war and lose a significant amount of land. -
Stamp Act
Law passed by king, all important papers and documents are taxed.
Made the Colonists upset at the king, creates the Stamp Act Congress. -
Boston Massacare
Incedent where Crispus Attucks and others die in fight with British Soldiers.
Overexageraterd and propoganized, depicted a horrible scene by Paul Revere. Turned Colonists against the King and British. -
Boston Tea Party
Event where Patriots dressed up as Mohawk Indians and dumped tea in to the sea in protest of taxes.
Cost the British thousands of dollars, upsets king and made Intolerable taxes. -
Intolerable Acts
Also known as the Coercive acts, a series of acts in responce to The Boston Tea Party to pay for loss by British.
This starterd with the closing of Boston's ports, it angered the Colonists to the point of seperating from England. -

The Americans showed that they could retaliate and the war began. -

Document that made America Seperate from England.
It made the 13 original colonies their own independent states. No longer bonded to their homeland England. -
Saratoga Battle
Battle that the American side won against Burgoyne (British) and his army.
This battle was considered a major turning point for Americans for they gained support from France with this victory. -
Articles of Confederation (radification)
Americas first attempt at a constitution.
Gave Free Enterprise and Social Security,however it had flaws with a lack of laws and courts, also it had the lacking of a leader. -
Yorktown Battle
The last major battle of The American Revolution.
It was the battle where the British surrendered after being defeated on a penisula. -
Treaty of Paris
The treaty that ended the war and made peace between England and colonies.
The treaty ended the war and gave independance to colonies. -
Shay's Rebellion
Rebellion in retalliation to taxes and dept collection, mostly farmers.
This is cosidered one of the most important days in history, it proved that The Articles of Confederation didn't work. -
Costitution
Rules set by our Founding Fathers, keeps goverment under control while giving it some power and athority.
This was put to replace the Articles and was succesful, still used today. -
Washington Inaguration
This is the ceremony where Washington becomes president.
This is the first inaguration we have, Washington our formal general is now president. -
Washington Farewell Adress
Letter from President Washington ending his term for presidency.
He gave advice to avoid affairs with foreign country's (France and England) and to avoid political parties. -
Madison VS. MArbury
Court case about Marshall (mid-night judge) being deprived of his commision papers by President Jefferson.
Created Judicial review which can determine if congress is making constitutional or unconstitutional decisions. -
Lousiana Purchase
America buys Louisiana territory from France.
This nearly doubles Americas size. Creates the Western Region. -
War of 1812
War that lasted 2 years, fight between Britan and America.
Known as "The Forgoton War" it is a qurrel over Native American allies. Ended with the Treaty of Ghent. Recieved the name: "War Without Victory". -
Industrial Revolution
A long process that helped technology more convienent and accesible.
We started to create National roads, Steamboats, and The Telegraph. These would eventually evolve into todays technology.
