    French and Indian War

    The French and Indian war was a war where the French and Indians teamed up to fight the British for the Ohio Valley. They were fighting so they could both have the portion of land with the Ohio Valley River
  • Common Sense

    Common Sense was written by Thomas Paine. It was a way to get people interested in the war. Thomas Paine wanted people to see that England was bad and that is just wasn't common sense to have England rule the colonists in America.
  • Proclamation Line

    The Proclamation Line seperated the colonists from the ohio river valley. Many Natives were attacking the colonists so the King closed it off. The colonists got mad because they fought for this land and now it was being closed off.
  • The Stamp Act

    The stamp act was a tax on any document. These documents included legal documents and letters. A stamp costed one silver coin, which was very hard to find.
  • Boston Massacre

    The king sent more British soldiers so the colonists were getting mad. During a protest the colonists started throwing rocks and other items at the soldiers. The soldiers got agitated and started to open fire.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act was a tax on tea. England sold the tea trade to the British East India Tea Company. This event later sparked the Boston Tea Party.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was not a party. The Sons of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans and went onto a tea trade ship. They then took the crates of tea and dumped them in the ocean.
  • 1st Continental Congress

    The First Continental Congress was a group of representatives from each colony. They wanted to unite the colonies to fight against the British. They would soon create the Continental Army.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable acts were put into place as punishment for the Boston Tea Party. The king kicked the governor of Massachusetts out of his place and replaced him with General Gage. General Gage then closed the Boston Port, one of the most valuable ports in America.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    This battle was the start of the Revolutionary War. It started when word that the Patriots were hiding their ammunition in Lexington and that John Hancock and Sam Adams were hiding out in Concord. Minutemen were ready for the British when they arrived. The British got their weapons but they did not get either of the men.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The Battle of Bunker Hill was a loss for the patriots. They were winning at first; they were successful at keeping the British off the hill. Then they ran out of ammunition and the British were able to advance.
  • Chains: Isabel and Ruth meet Lady Semour

    Isabel and Ruth are in the Lockton's house when Lady Semour comes over. Lady Semour is Mr. Lockton's aunt. She watches with discomfort when Mrs. Lockton treats them with disrespect.
  • Mr Lockton is arrested

    Mr. Lockton is arrested after Isabel tells Curzon that he is hiding money in a chest to bribe patriots. The patriot officers show up to arrest him but he has already gotten rid of the money. They still arrest him for the conspiracy.
  • Isabel Steals loyalist plans

    Isabel steals loyalist plans from Mr. Lockton's study. She grabes them and leaves late in the night. She asks the colonel to give her and her sister freedom because she gave him the plans. He says he will try his best.
  • British arrive in New York

    The British arrive in New York with Mr. Lockton in tow. He left after he realized his loyalist plans were missing. They begin to fire on the patriots and the city.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The declaration of independence was the document that declared America free from England. It listed all of America's "complaints" with England. Many of the Sons of Liberty signed the documents.
  • 2nd Continental Congress

    The second continental congress created the continental army. They drafted the olive branch petition a final way to make peace. They also appointed George Washington as the leader.
  • Isabel is branded

    Isabel is branded for challenging Mrs. Lockton after she sells Ruth. She is thrown in jail three days before and becomes sick. She is then branded on her cheek with an "I" of insolence.
  • Articles of confederation Mar. 1st 1781

    The articles of confederation was the first draft of the constitution. Each colonies leader had to sign in. It was ratified on March 1st.
  • Yorktown

    Yorktown took place in Virginia. It was the French and Americans against the British and Germans. The Americans and French won.
