Intentions for President
On June 14, 1999 Governor Bush son of H. W. Bush announced his intentions of becoming the Republican nomination for president of the United States. The people liked him without knowing much about him because he did not seem to want to that bad. He had not actually planned on becoming president in his life but he took on the responsibility. -

Election Night
On November 6, 2000 The election night was a cliff hanger between Bush and Gore. The Cliff hanger went on for weeks and many had thought Gore had won.The next morning on November 7th Bush had been declared as the winner even with the votes being too close to call. -
Presidential Court Case
n Bush v. Gore (2000) Florida's court-ordered manual recount of vote ballots in the presidential election was unconstitutional On December 2, 2000 Bush v. Gore was decided was also the deadline for selecting electors to formally submit Florida's choice for president to congress. This left no time to recount votes which caused G. W. Bush to become the default winner. The Court case ended with Bush remaining as President. -
Bush-National Address-Declare war on Iraq
On march 19, 2001 Bush announced the declaration of war on Iraq in his address. He claimed in this address to make sure this attack does no harm the lives of innocent civilians and to defend American freedom. Bush also said that the assistance of over 35 has been obtained and no other result but victory will be accepted. -
September 11 terrorist attack (part 2)
With a plane loaded with 20000 gallons of fuel crash into the World Trade Center at the north tower in New York, hundreds of people lost their lives. D hundreds more became trapped inside the building. The explosion caused explosion debris to rain over the surrounding streets and buildings. -

The attack on september 11, 2001 occurred when 19 militants who are associated with the islamic group al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. The terrorist plane crash attacks resulted in over 3000 deaths which includes the deaths of over 400 police officers and firefighters in New York and Washington D.C. -
Bush Ground Zero Speech
On september 14, 2001 Bush made a speech that addressed the terrorist attacks on America. The country had bended knees in prayer for those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks. The people of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut mourned the loss of thousands of citizens. In the speech Bush mentioned their attack back by saying “the people who knocked these buildings down will on hear all of us soon”. -
War With Afghanastan
On October 7,2001 the United States began their attack on Afghanistan in response to the terrorist attack on 9/11 with a bombing campaign that involved American and British forces. Logistical support was provided by France, Germany, Australia, Canada, and later also by the anti- Taliban North Alliance rebels. This attack was the beginning of the “war on terrorism”. -
No Child Left Behind Act
On January 8, 2002 the No Child Left Behind act was made in order to close student achievement gaps. This act provided all children equal and a fair opportunity to receive a high quality education. With this new plan in place all students were predicted to meet or exceed state standards in reading and in math by 2014. -
US Congress authorizes the declaration of war with iraq
On October 16, 2002 military action on Iraq was authorized. This authorized President Bush to launch a military attack against Iraq if he felt it was necessary. With this new authority in place Bush stated that the “gathering threat of Iraq must be confronted fully and finally. -
Space Shuttle Columbia self-destructs
On February 1, 2003 at 8:00 CST residents of Texas witness a tragic mishap. Space Shuttle Columbia self destruct into a fireball at 12,000mph. 17 years after the fact G. W. Bush delivered the news which sadly revealed that there was no survivors in the accident and that Columbia was lost. -
Operation Red Dawn (part 1)
On December 13, 2003 task Force 121 sought out to capture the president of Iraq. Initially Ibrahim Al-Muslit as he was targeted As being the key. In interrogation Ibrahim revealed that Hussein was hiding at a farm in Ad Dawr, south of Tikrit. After this two farms were targeted but Hussein was not located. -
Opperation Red Dawn (part 2)
Later two cooperating HUMINT sources eventually revealed Hussein's true hiding spot. When Task force soldiers found his “spider hole” Saddam Hussein, president of Iraq expressed his willingness to negotiate. With having this said the commando leader said Bush dent his regards to him. -
9/11 Commission report
On July 22, 2004 the final 9/11 commission report was published. The commission stated that the 9/11 attack was a shock but it shouldn't have been a surprise as Islamic extremists had long declared their intention to kill a large mass of Americans. The report also exposed an abundance of falling government agencies along with many recommendations to guard against future attacks. -
Wins Reelection
On November 2, 2004 Republican Party candidate G. W. Bush won against Democratic Party John Kerry.Foreign policy was extremely present throughout the election campaign. The main point in Foreign policy was Bush's conduct of War on Terrorism and the 2003 invasion on Iraq. -
Hurricane Katrina
On August 9, 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast of the United States. It has a category 3 rating on the hurricane scale with a sustained wind of 100-140 mph and stretched 400 miles across. Hundreds of thousands of people in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama ended up displaced from their homes and the damage this hurricane cost was estimated to be more than 100 billion dollars in damage. -
Chief Justice Roberts- Supreme Court
On September 29, 2005 Roberts was given the oath of office as Chief Justice. President Bush acknowledged the current Justices in the audience as well as members of his cabinet. Judge Roberts was praised as “a man with an astute mind and kind heart. -
Saddam Hussein found guilty
On november 5, 2006, Saddam Hussein was convicted of crimes against humanity. He was sentenced to death by hanging for incidents such as the 1982 Dujail massacre. His execution caused mixed reactions of people who were happy that he finally got his punishment , but in predominately in Sunni Arab areas violent fights broke out -
Democratic party takes control of both houses
On november 7, 2006 the Democratic party took over congress during the midterm elections. They won approximately 230 out of 435 seats in the house leaving a 51-49 margin in the senate. Democrats gained at least 28 seat making the Democrats have a win in seat number over Republicans. -
Former President G. Ford Dies
On December 27, 2006 former president G. Ford passed away. The family gave no announcement on how he dies, the only knowledge being that he has been in and out of the hospital since january 2006. He lived to be 93 which made him the oldest former president who beat Ronald Reagan's record by barely over a month. -
New troops in Iraq
On January 11, 2007 Bush added more than 20,000 troops to Iraq. This fight with Iraq was said to be the greatest war on terror. The majority of the troops were to Baghdad with some in Anban. Democrats were opposed to adding the troops but they were added anyways. -
Obama elected; Bush bids farewell
On November 4, 2008 armed forces held a farewell ceremony for Bush in Fort Myer’s Conmy Hall. The ceremony was in honor of departing President Bush. Bush praised the military for their strong efforts and service in Iraq and in Afghanistan during Bush's administration.
