    During this battle in the revolution, Americans triumphed over the British. This victory persuaded France to join the Americans against its rival, Britain.

It took ideas from the enlightenment and people such as Locke, Montesquieu, and Rousseau. The constitution created a federal public, so power was divided between the government and the states.
