    Magna Carta

    Magna Carta
    King John signed it to decrease his amount of power. He did so to keep his rule.
  • Petition of Right

    Petition of Right
    Sets out specific liberties that the King can't infringe on. This included taxation.
  • English Bill of Rights

    English Bill of Rights
    This document put restrictions on the freedom of the English. It was written as a parliment.
  • Albany Plan of Union

    Albany Plan of Union
    It was used to place the British's North American colonies under a centralized government. It was the first plan to address all of the colonies as a whole under one government.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    A riot in Boston over high taxes was started. In the end, five colonists had died and many wounded.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    This was an event where colonists got onboard of a British cargo ship and threw all of their tea off. This did not go well wth the British.
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    Brought together by represenatives from all colonies but Georgia. It was held to discuss the British.
  • Second Continental Congress

    Second Continental Congress
    A meeting held to discuss future ideas for our country. Many delgates that attended were future presidents.
  • Declaration of Independence

    This documetn was signed by many delegates to bring freedom to the Great States. We were no longer under control of the British.
  • Articles of Confederation

    The Articles of Confederation was the United States first Constitution, It was made to create a weak Central government.
  • Shay's Rebellion

    Shay's Rebellion
    This was a series of protests by farmers. The rebellion was lead by Daniel Shay.
  • Philadelphia Convention

    Philadelphia Convention
    Also known as the Constitutional Covention. There was a totla of 55 delegates from twelve states present to discuss the Articles of Confederation and bring in a new Constitution.
  • Virginia Plan

    Virginia Plan
    This plan proposed that there should be three branches of government. Legislature, executive, and judicial.
  • New Jersey Plan

    New Jersey Plan
    Also known as the Small State Plan. it was propesed by Will Patterson.
