During WW2 woman stepped up, and took over mens jobs and got raised to be army nurses, they went to war and were in control of the men they served, they were not allowed to carry guns, they also were soldiers way of transportation. -
Order in Council
This is significant to Canada because there was a large decrease in the amount of immigrants that are coming to Canada. They made a law called the "Order in Council" where they did not let any immigrants come to Canada -
The Great Depression
Many Canadians lost millions of dollars, they got the necessities they needed from the government. Many people got starved and depressed. -
Regina Riot
This was when there was a meeting called in the market square, to update the citizens during the great depression. The citizens fought the governments because they were not happy that there was no progress being made. -
The tide turns
This is significant to Canada because Canadians soldiers got sent by Britain to help defend Hong Kong. Many Canadian soldiers unfortunately died. In December the Japanese army went throughout Hong Kong. Canadians unfortantly had to surrender. -
D-Day
British landed on the beaches. 340 Canadians were killed. It tricked the Germans by thinking they were there but it just fake supplies. It was sucssessful -
Canadians helping Belgium and NetherLands
Canadians helped free Belgium and the Netherlands. 6300 Canadians unfortantley died. -
Japanese Canadian
Canada dropped a bomb pearl harbor. Japanese Canadians were treated super unfairly. Canada treated them extremely racist and separated them from there family and sold there goods.
