Wake County formed
Wake county was formed by parts of Cumberland county,Jhonston county and Orange county.The first courthouse was called Wake courthouse. The first elections and court were held. -
Raleigh became state capital
Raleigh was chosen to be the capital because of its central location. It was named after Sir Walter Raleigh.They got the land for Raleigh from Joel Lane.Raleigh is one of the few cities in the United States that was planned and built specifically to serve as a state capital. -
Railroads were built.
Railroads helped people travel to different places.It also helped in the transportation of goods.This created more jobs in the state. As a result people became rich. -

ResearchTriangle Park is one of the largest research parks.Lots of companies came to North Carolina because of the ResearchTriangle Park.Lot of jobs were created. Research triangle park is located between the cities of Durham, Raleigh and Chapel hill.bThe universities in these cities also grew,Lots of people came to North Carolina.
