Hiraga Gennai, a Japanese inventor, constructed a Jacob's ladder.
Legend says that a Jacob’s ladder was found in King Tut's tomb, meaning it was invented in 1352 B.C.
Its common name comes from the biblical story of a dream Jacob had of a ladder ascending to heaven.
The toy was invented in 1729 but was sold to the public as a toy in 1889, about 160 years later. -

Sorry is based on Pachisi an ancient game from India. The objective of the game is to get all four pieces around the board and into the home spot. In the game there is a card called the sorry card where you can take one pawn out of the home spot and put it in somebody else's spot that person then needs to put there pawn in their start spot. The toy I saw is an Etch a Sketch. It was created by André Cassagnes. It was the best selling toy of its year. Over 100 million have been sold so far. Some artists have created permanent masterpieces by removing the aluminum powder and resealing the Etch a sketch. The left knob leaves a horizontal line, and the right knob moves vertically. When you move the knobs, you are moving a stylus across the back. It was introduced at the peak of Baby Boom. It sold 600,000 units the opening year alone. -
