Sony's very first step into the gaming industry was the original playstation. It was first released in Japan on December 3, 1994, but then cam to America in 1995. The console became a huge hit, worldwide. It used discs, and being a 5th generation console was not hugely popular at the time. However, it caught on because discs offered better graphics. -

The ps2 Rocks the Gaming World
The ps2 is the most sold console of all time. As of 2012, it had sold about 155 million consoles. The ps2 had recieved major upgrades in all areas, ( the CPU alone was over 10 times faster then the original.) The console was discontinued over 13 years later because of its popularity. -
Playstation 3 brings Blue-Ray
The playstation 3 is the first console to have blue-ray compatibilities, which gives the game a super crisp picture. Three models were introduced: the fat, slim, and super slim.(left to right) The ps3 also broght about the playstation store, which allowed content to be streamed wirelessly. -

Now we are in the age of the ps4. With stunning Ultra HD graphics, and 8 super fast cores, this console really is something else. It features motion detectors and usb 3.1 slots. It has sold over 14.8 million consoles in its first year.
