  • Martial Law Begins

    Martial Law occurs under the presidential ruling of Ferdinand Marcus. Military take over civil ruling; the beginning of a dictatorship.This was the turning point of the Philipines and Marcus ruled until 1986.

  • Benigno Aquino, Jr. Assasination

    Benigno Aquino Jr. was a senator of the Phillipines and known for his rivalry against Ferdinand Marcos. His wife Corazon Aguino would rise against the storm and begin her journey to become president.. Aquino had been assasinated in the Manila International airport.
  • EDSA Revolution

    This was a four day non violent demonstrations that was against President Marcos (of that time) who was dictating the country. This enacted for President Corazon Aquino to take over.
  • First Woman President of Philippines

    President Corazon Aquino was the 11th president of the Philippines. She was the first woman president to take office and had ended the dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos. Now, ending the Martial Law.
