    Introduction to Latin

    Around 600 Christian missionaries came to Europe and Christianity was widely accepted soon after. With the adoption of Christianity came the addition of over 400 latin words into the English dialect.

    The origional Old English was written in runic script, known as futhorc, until Irish missionaries came and intoducted Latin. The Latin alphabet was then adopted.
