Robert H. Goddard - liquid fuel
in 1926 Robert H. Goddard flew his rocket fuelled with liquid oxygen and gasoline at Auburn, Massachusetts. The rocket flew about 60 mph, reaching an altitude of 41 feet.
This discovery gave birth to modern space travel as we know it today. -
