First year in the NFL
The Cowboys were to play as a "swing" team, playing every other team one time during the first season, although listed in the Western Division standings. On September 24th the Cowboys host the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Cotton Bowl in their first official game. -
Second Season
The cowboys started off their season strong with a 4-1 record. But as the season progressed, they went back to be the Cowboys of 1960. They didn't win another game. They ended the season 4-9-1. (This was the 1961 season.) -
1962 season
The cowboys started to show some potential as year 3 rolled around scoring the second most points in the NFL. There defence on the other hand, allowed the second most points and they finished the season 5-8-1. (1962 season) -
1963 season
Sports Illustrated picked the Cowboys to win the Eastern division. The Cowboys started the season slow losing there first four games and five out of six. They ended the season with a victory of the Cardinals -
1967 season
The Cowboys and Packers play in the "Ice Bowl" with a wind chill at -52 degrees. The cowboys lost 21-17 in the last 16 seconds of the game. -
1968
The Cowboys jump out of the gate with six straight wins, never looking back as they capture the Capitol Division with a 12-2 record, as the Cowboys scored a league high 431 points while the "Doomsday Defense" allowed only 186. However, the Cowboys season would end with a disappointing 31-20 loss in Cleveland to the Browns in the Eastern Conference Championship -
1970 Championship game
The cowboys finally get a victory in the NFC Championship game and advance to the Supebowl. They defeated the 49ers 17-10. -
Superbowl V
The Cowboys played the Baltimore Colts. The Cowboys held the lead in the 4th quarter 13-6. Do to two int's the Colts ended up winning 16-13 with a game winning field goal at the end. -
Superbowl VI
The Cowboys played the Miami Dolphins in New Orleans. The Cowboys would go on to shut out the Dolphins in the second half finally becoming World Champions with a 24-3 super triumph, as Quarterback Roger Staubach earned MVP honors. -
Superbowl X
In the tenth Super Bowl the Cowboys were matched up against the P ittsburgh Steelers who were seeking their second Lombardi Trophy in Miami. They would go on to lose 21-17 -
Superbowl XII
In the first Super Bowl played in a dome the Cowboys faced the upstart Denver Broncos led by former Cowboys Quarterback Craig Morton in New Orleans. Once again the Cowboys were the dominant force jumping out to a 13-0 lead at halftime. The Cowboys would go on to win 27-10. -
Superbowl XIII
Three years after losing Super Bowl X, the Cowboys faced the Pittsburgh Steelers in Miami in the first ever Super Bowl rematch. The Cowboys dropped dropped the game winning catch in the end of the game. -
Superbowl XXVII
For the first time in 15 years the Cowboys were back in the Super Bowl, facing the Buffalo Bills in Pasadena. The Cowboys won 52-17. -
Super Bowl XXVIII
The Cowboys were back in the Super Bowl for the seventh time seeking to win their second straight Lombardi Trophy against Buffalo Bills in Atlanta. They went on to win 30-13 -
Superbowl XXX
Back in the Super Bowl for the third time in four years Cowboys fans must have had a flashback to the 70's as they faced the Pittsburgh Steelers in Tempe, Arizona. The Steelers were driving until Neil O'Donnel through an interception to Larry Brown and returned it into Steelers territory. Emmitt Smith than took it in for the score. 27-17 Cowboys over the steelers.
