    In 1325 A.D. the Aztecs saw an eagle perched on a cactus, they thought that was a signal to make their homes there. They started off by draining the swampy land, and putting in artificial land. They were able to catch fish and build empires later on.

    While the Aztecs were under their leader Itzcoatl in 1428, they formed a three way association with the Texcocans and Tacubans. They did this to defeat their rivals, the Tepanec. Then they would conquer Azcapotzalco, the Tepanec capitol.

    The Aztec emperor Montezuma believed that Hernan Cortes was the bearded Aztec god. He thought he would bring world peace. Then he was captured and killed in 1520. They say he was killed by his own men.
