John Dalton
John Dalton was an English chemist, meterologist and physicits. He contributed to the Atomic Theory by revealing in the concept of Dalton’s Law of Partial Pressures. Also in the 1800s, he was the first scientist to explain the behavior of atoms in terms of the measurement of weight

Dalton's Model
Dalton's model is one of the fundamentals of physcis and chemistry. He discovered that certain gases could only be combined in certain proportions even if two different compounds shared the same common element or group of elements.

William Crooke
William Crooke was a british chemist born in London. He contributed to the atomic theory by discovering the element thallium and his cathode-ray studies, which was fundamental in the development of atomic physics. J.J. Thomson
Joseph John Thomson was a British physicist. He discovered the electron in experiments designed to study the nature of electric discharge in a high-vacuum cathode-ray tube. Citation: "J.J. Ernest Rutherford
Ernest Rutherford contribute to the Atomic Theory when he published his theory describing the atom as having a central positive nucleus surrounded by negative orbiting electrons. He came to this conlcusions by creating his Gold Foil Experiment. When he shot a beam of alpha particles at a sheet of gold foil, a few of the particles were deflected. He concluded that a tiny, dense nucleus was causing the deflections.

Plum Pudding Atomic Model
The Plum Pudding Atomic model was proposed by JJ Thomson, also known as chocolate chip cookie. The atom is composed of electrons sorrounded by positive charge to balance the electrons' negative charges, like negatively charged "plums" surrounded by positively charged "pudding".

Rutherford Model
The Rutherford Model was created by Ernest Ruthford. Since the Pudding Model of JJ Thomas was incorrect, Ruthford conducted a now famous experiment where he bombarded gold foil with alpha particles (Helium nuclei)

Bohr Model
The Bohr Model or the "planetary model" was a modification of the earlier model, the Rutherford, although this one contains error too. It was proposed by Neils Bohr and this model showed that the electrons and neurons had a nucleus, and that the electrons orbit the nuclues. It shows s a planetary model in which the negatively-charged electrons orbit a small, positively-charged nucleus Citation: "Bohr Model of the Atom." About.com Chemistry. N.p., n.d. Neils Bohr
Neils Bohr contributed to the Atomic Theory by postulating the quantum theory of atomic structure

Quantum Mechanical Model
This model is compared to Bohr's model. It is based on mathematics, it is used to explain observations made on complex atoms and it works for all the elements.

James Chadwick
James Chadwick made a very important discovery in the doorman of nuclear science, he proved the existence of neutrons. He established that atomic number is determined by the numbers of protons in an atom.
