    Aboriginal History

  • Federation

    The Commonwealth Constitution states "in reckoning the numbers of people… Aboriginal natives shall not be counted". It also states that the Commonwealth would legislate for any race except Aboriginal people.

  • White Australia Policy

    The government introduces the white Australia policy, trying to ban all non-Caucasian people from entering the country.

  • Immigration Restriction Act

    Act of the Parliament of Australia which limited immigration to Australia and formed the basis of the White Australia policy.
