    During the all valley tournament in 1984 Daniel Lurusso takes a hard hit to the leg and goes down. But thankfully to Mr Miyagi's mastery of moto-ki he heals Daniel Son which helps him go on crane kick his way to win the all-valley tournament. Mr Miyagi helped show the world the power of sports medicine which was a crucial point in it's history.

  • Zach Easters many concussions change the way people look at concussions

    Zach Easter got many concussions which caused swelling in his brain and almost death. This cause sports medicine to take a whole different approach to concussions
  • Zach Lystedt gets brain trauma from football

    This is another big event that changed the way people looked at concussions. Zach had a large amount of brain damage from the concussion and even went into a coma. This event even caused the state of Washington to pass a law that made it illegal for any athlete to return to play after an injury without medical clearance

    When Mitch Haniger took a hit to the groin during an MLB game he got seriously injured since he was not wearing protective gear called a cup. His injury changed the minds of many players and trainers when dealing with cups and whether to wear them/check for them.

    While playing football Alex Smith got a compound fracture that later got infected and caused him to nearly die. But with the help of sports med trainers and doctors, he made it back to the field
  • Damar Hamlin goes into cardiac arrest

    Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field because he took a hit to the chest which caused him to go into cardiac arrest. This was a wake-up call to sports medicine on the dangers of cardiac arrest caused by sports-related illness
