    Golf first seen in the U.S
    The first time golf was seen and organized in the U.S. was in the year 1743. This event was held at Harelston green, which was an undeveloped pastureland that was full of green lands. This event was mostly the arrival of the sport of golf as a shipment came in from Scotland that had 432 golf balls and 96 golf clubs. David Deas is the original receiver here in the United States so to sum he is known as a pioneer here.

    Introduced in the late 1700's boxing was not very popular here in the U.S. Until the early 1800's hit. These boxing matches would take place in the main urban areas such as New Orleans, Boston, and New York City. Many of these early fights were between Americans and the Irish as both were looking for quick opportunities to make money. Boxing Ended up being very popular as many American fighters went on to shock the whole world.

    The first-ever baseball game in the United States took place on June 19th of 1846. This was a new rivalry game between the New York Nine and the Knickerbockers. The final score was 23-1 in favor of the New York Nine. This game took place at the Elysian Feilds in Hoboken, New Jersey. Alexander Cartwright was the referee for this game.

    The first-ever football game took place on November 6th of 1869. This game was held between two college teams one being Rutgers and the other being Princeton. The final score was 6-4 in favor of Rutgers. This continued on for several years while only following the host school's rules for the game. At the time football resembled closely to rugby with very similar rules. Later on, these colleges had representatives come together to create a new set of rules similar to our current day rules.

    The first-ever tennis game in America was played in the year 1874. This game was played on a grass court and held between James Dwight, Richard Dudley Sears, and Fred Sears. This led to the first tournament being held in America in the year 1881 which was known as the U.S. national championship. This is now known as the U.S open.
  • The MLB Was Formed

    The MLB Was Formed
    The first league in the MLB was formed on February 2nd, 1876. This was known as the National League (NL). This league in its early stages would have 8 teams even though teams would transfer from this league to the other league which is the (AL). Later on, the other league was formed in the MLB which was the American League (AL). This league of teams was formed in 1901. These events led up to the first world series which was held in the year 1903.

    The basketball game was invented on March 11th of 1892. The game was invented in a college gymnasium in Springfield, Massachusetts due to a New England storm that made the students stay inside the building. James Naismith lead the movement as he was the physical education teacher. He originally only had 13 rules. In December of 1892, the first ever game was played between 18 college students 9 per team. This game ended in a full brawl as these students would begin to throw punches and kicks.

    In the summer of 1904, the city of St. Louis held the first Olympic game outside of Europe. This run at the 1904 summer Olympics was a historic run for team U.S. as they topped out every country in gold metals and total metals earned. These Olympic games were weird compared to others as this was the last year golf was held and this year also had a tug of war as an Olympic sport.
  • The NFL Was Created

    The NFL Was Created
    On September 17th of 1920, ten football teams joined together to create a league known as the APFA which is the American Profetinol, Football, Acosiaction. This is also known as the NFL (national football league). Later this year, 4 more teams joined the NFL. This event was held in Canton, Ohio which is a historic town in the NFL as it is where the Hall of Fame ceremony is held every year. Over the years the NFL has expanded tremendously and currently has 32 teams and is seen as "Americas Sport"

    The National Hockey League played its first official game on December 1st of 1924. This was a game between the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Maroons. This game took place in the Boston Arena. The end result was a win for the Boston Bruins by the score of 2-1 which was short-lived as they ended up only wining 6 games that season.

    The NBA Was Founded
    The NBA (National Basketball Association) was founded on June 6th, 1946 with the original name of the Basketball Association of America. The NBA originally only started with a total of 8 teams. Currently, there are 30 total teams. The NBA was established in New York and currently holds there headquarters there. Walter Brown was the man who decided to make the NBA since he saw success in major ice hockey arenas.

    NASCAR races into the U.S
    On February 21st of 1948, the National Association for Stock Car Racing (NASCAR) was first introduced in the U.S. NASCAR ran its first race in Daytona Beach at the beach road course. Red Byron wins in a Ford. This event correlates directly to the first official race which was held in Charlotte North Carolina on June 19th, 1949. There were around 13,000 people with a total prize money award of 2,000 dollars. NASCAR was starting to rise in publicity especially around the 1980s all around the U.S.
  • First Super Bowl

    First Super Bowl
    The first Super Bowl was held between the Green Bay Packers (NFL) and the Kansas City Chiefs (AFL) at the memorial coliseum in Los Angeles on January 15th, 1967. This game was led by the packers coach Vince Lombardi. His impact will never be forgotten in the game of football as the Super Bowl Trophy is named after him (Vince Lombardi Trophy). The final score of the game was 35-10 in favor of the Green Bay Packers.
