General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony declared that every town that has a lot of family members should have an elementary school and a Latin class for the family of 100 or so. They also had a goal to teach every kid how to read the bible and learn everything they need to learn about the Calvinist religion. -

Thomas Jefferson has proposed a two-track for the education system and in his words "the laboring and the learned." Also, scholarships would allow only a certain of people in the laboring class in order to advance. -

The Continental Congress has passed a law
The Continental Congress passed a law that is basically a survey called "Northwest Territory." This law has been created for the townships that were "reserving" a portion of the township just for a local school. The land grand have eventually come to the U.S. system called "land grant universities," of course, it is the state of public universities. -

It has been said from the Pennsylvania state constitution that poor children will receive free education while rich people will pay for the children's schooling. -

New York, Public school society has been formed by wealthy businessmen in order to provide education for poor children. Schools has also been on the run on which one can master and teach hundreds of students in just one room and the master can give a rote lesson to older students as well. -

a petition has been presented at a meeting in Boston Town in order to establish a system of free public primary schools. The main support comes from local merchants, businessmen etc. Of course, there were many wage earners that actually opposed of this since they don't want to pay taxes. Yes, you heard that they didn't want to pay taxes at all. -

The state of Massachusetts has passed another law and this time it is about making sure that poor children of poor immigrants get civilized and learn how to be respectful etc. -

Yes, Congress has now made it illegal for Native American children to be taught their language and once they turn four years old they get taken away from their parents and get sent to a Bureau boarding school. -

African Americans start to bring public education to the South
After the Civil War and the legal end to slavery is that African Americans are starting to bring public education to the South. Also, many African American start to be an alliance with rupublicans so they can push many changes. -

Reconstruction ends in 1887
Reconstruction ended in 1877 when the federal troops started to withdraw after the civil war has ended. After that the whites began to regaun political control in the South.
