Creation of Nintendo Karuta
Nintendo started off as a Japanese Card production and distribution company founded by Fusajiro Yamauchi to create "hanafuda" playing cards. -

Nintendo Karuta established the compony as a general partnership and got a new Headquarters next to their previous building. WW2 also negatively impacted the compony with authorities forbidding the spread of foreign card games and customers priorities shifting. -
Walt Disney Contract
Yamauchi Nintendo & Co ltd, now Nintendo Playing card Co Ltd, actually managed to establish a contract with Walt Disney himself to allow his cartoon characters to be featured in the cards. around this time the compony also was able to use their new distribution system to allow cards to be sold in toy stores. -

Creating classic and electronic toys
After the previous years' failed experimental ventures, such as Love Hotels, Instant rice and a Taxi compony by the name of Daiya. Nintendo decided to make some changes. They expanded the compony by opening up new production plants, traded in the Osaka stock Exchange and they invested in a research and development deal to release their first toy The Nintendo Beam gun. -
The Ultra Hand
In the late 60s Nintendo Created the Ultra Hand which sold over more the 1 Million units and went on to inspire MANY very similar toys we will all recognize. It was created by Gunpei Yokoi who went on to create many more famous toys for Nintendo. It has also gone on to appear in many modern Nintendo games as a Easter Egg. -

Still to this day Nintendo is known for making classic games for their consoles and is not only a hit in Japan but also worldwide.
