The passing of this Act made Civil Rights a part of law. This Act made discrimination of one's race, ethnicity, or status illegal. This began the start of Multiculturalism in education. -

This bill was passed on April 9th, and was a part of the "War on Poverty" plan. This allowed for added funding to low-income students, bettering their education. -
The Higher Education Act
The Higher Education Act allowed for greater federal aid to higher educations. This allowed for more scholarships and students loans. -

The passing of The Equal Educational Opportunities Act allowed for schools to enforce protection barriers in order to prevent discrimination. This showed the nation's support and push for multicultural education. -

The passing of this act allowed for schools to receive extra funding if they were schooling a high number of immigrants. This helped schools not shy away from having immigrants in their schooling system. -
Improving America's Schools Act (IASA)
Signed by Bill Clinton, this Act allowed for increased funding to bilingual and immigrant education. This act also added provisions to charter-schools. -
California - Proposition 187
California denies public education to alien immigrants. Is eventually challenged, and later overturned. This further shows the nation's push for multicultural education. -
The Higher Education Act (Reformed)
The Higher Education Act is updated. The changes further improves funding and financial aid to higher education. -
Obama's Community College Plan
Obama announces his plan to make community college free for all American students. However, the House and Senate eventually shot this down. This could have provided higher education for many low-income students who needed it. -
President Donald Trump signs the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
Trump makes schools take a cut on funding. Specifically, teachers will now have to pay for majority of classroom supplies out of pocket. This hurt low-income schools already struggling with funding.
