    The young had experienced social injustices so they wanted change. Slimming figures, bright colors, "Hippy" long hair, beads, jeans and tie-dye.Referred to as the "Peacock Generation" for putting themselves on display.

    Individuality and expression in this decade. Hippie, peacock, glam rock and disco are often referred to as the "styles." An influx of cheap fabrics helped fuel the styles. Bold and daring looks.

    Fashion forward trends with hip hop, preppie, workout, rock and punk styles. Baggie pants, fitted sweaters and pants, and windbreakers. Bigger is better was the motto in the 80s.

    Known for their relaxed and easy going style. Casual dressing dominated. Overalls became a thing also, and with one strap not fastened was "cool."
