    The second generation had 10 GB and 20 GB versions. It used the same body style as the first but the hold switch was redesigned.
  • iPod Third Generation Released

    The third generation was thinner than the second and third. The third had as high as a 30 GB version. There was a touch wheel as well.

    It replaced the touch wheel with a click wheel. The casing was also slightly slimmer.

    It had a 2.5 inch and 320 by 240 QVGA screen. The click wheel was smaller and was the first to be able to play videos.

    It had slightly thinner bodies. Also, it had dramatically improved battery life.
