The first SEGA system was a coin-operated amusement-tpye game such as a jukebox and slot machine. Within a few years, they began importing these machines to American Military bases throughout Japan. -
Pong
Pong was a coin-operated arcade game by Atari Inc. It was based off of table tennis and named after the sound when the ball is hit. It was the first video game to be widespread in popularity in both arcade and home console versions. -
Magnavox Odyssey
World's first game console. It was designed by Ralph Baer, and it was known as the "Brown Box". 340K units sold. -
Atari 2600
The Atari was a company that was new and it was going to become famous. This system looked a lot like the Magnavox Odyssey. -
Intellivison
This system looked a lot like the Atari 2600 which looked similar to the Magnavox Odyssey, so we see some trends here in the systems. This console didn't get very famous though. -
Pac Man
One of the legendary games of history, still up to now. First came in an arcade-type game. -
Frogger
Frogger was a simple strategy game where you had to move your frog across the map to get to the other side. It was 2D. -
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong was another legendary game of history and it was popular still up today when it was combined with Mario. -
Mario Brothers
Mario Brothers, the old legacy of gaming now was popular with Mario and Luigi which started it all. -
Tetris
Tetris was another famous game back in the day, simple strategy game that you had to play and rearrange shapes. -
Nintendo Entertainment System
The Nintendo Entertainment System, a console that you used at home to play games, the first Nintendo Console, after the gameboy. -
The Legend of Zelda
The Legend of Zelda, a strategy based game that still exists today and is still liked by many people. -
Final Fantasy
A game now with so many more versions, but the original one, a game where you explore and fight. -
Nintendo's Game Boy
Nintendo Game Boy, a handheld gaming system. Popular and became evolved later on. To the Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advanced. -
Sonic the HedgeHog
Sonic The Hedgehog was another famous game that was still famous, they updated it and released newer versions throughout the years, but this was another one that was also kept famous. -
Super Nintendo
Super Nintendo was the 2nd console after the NES, and the 3rd after the Nintendo Game Boy. -
Sony Playstation
The PlayStation, was the beginning of the Playstation series and it is still now one of the most popular systems, the Playstation 3. -
Nintendo 64
The 4th Nintendo game, but the 3rd Console. This was better than the other since it had easier controls and better graphics and things. -
Sony Playstation 2
Playstation 2, people still play this because it's not that old, but this was the thing everyone played besides the Xbox, before the Playstation 3. -
Nintendo Game Cube
The Nintendo Game Cube, the one before the Wii, was the most famous of them all, with even easier controls and was played by many people. -
Microsoft Xbox

The Xbox 360, with it's rival being the Playstation, still going head-to-head in popularity and dominance. -
Nintendo Wii
The Nintendo Wii, Nintendo's most advanced system so far, besides the Wii U. This used motion display and sensors. -
Playstation 3
PS3, Playstations most up to date system so far, still in competition with Xbox 360's newer version, and they are still in popularity competition.
