Between him and the kite he placed an iron key on the silke making sure that it touched the wire. Then as soon as the skies began to rumble he and an assistant flew the kite in the air. To prevent himself from being electrocuted t only held on the silk on the string and not the wire. With this experiment he managed to discover electricity. -
