    click for photo and articleOn this day, Ben Franklin made his legendary kite experiment. he did this by running a wire throough a peice of silk and attached a kite to the end. Between him and the kite he placed an iron key on the silke making sure that it touched the wire. Then as soon as the skies began to rumble he and an assistant flew the kite in the air. To prevent himself from being electrocuted t only held on the silk on the string and not the wire. With this experiment he managed to discover electricity.

When ever lightning struck it the metal gently and safely carried it to the ground.     This was the year that Volta first invented the battery. he used a small structure known taday as the voltaic pile. On it he stacked many zinc and copper plates and doused them in vinegar. the plates were arranged in an alternating order to help the charge pass through the battery. Volta had made a safer alternative to harness electricity than to what scientists were making. The modern term ''volt" is used in honor of him.

The light bulb was an incandecesnt lamp. The lamp had a carbon filament string inside that burned for thirteen and a half hours. It was then that he had begun the age of electricity.

This phone was the first smartohone to be entirely touchscreen, which helped spark a technological revolution. but the person who gets the credit for the design of the first iPhone is Johnathan Ive. The Iphone was also the first phone to use, and introduce, software applications, or apps.
