This law required towns that held families of 50 to 100 to have a school master who taught the kids to read and write. Towns of 100 families must have a grammar school master who prepares the children to attend Harvard College. -
John Locke's Some Thoughts Concerning Education
John Locke's Some Thoughts Concerning Education is published, describing his views on educating upper class boys to be moral, rationally-thinking, and reflective "young gentlemen." His ideas regarding educating the masses are conveyed in On Working Schools, published in 1697, which focused on the importance of developing a work ethic. -

president Lyndon Baines Johnson believes that the "Full educational oportunity should be our nations first goal" and came up with the ESEA(Elementary and Secondary Education Act). This attempts to create fair and equal opportunity to achieve an exceptional education. It funds primary and secondary schools in order to create a more embrace on Education. -

IDEA was originally enacted by Congress in 1975 to ensure that children with disabilities have the opportunity to receive a free appropriate public education, just like other children.
