1st compulsory school law
This law was passed in Massachusetts and required every city and town to offer primary schooling. The focus of the schooling was on grammar and basic arithmetic. This program was designed to help break the cycle of poverty by providing preschool children of low-income families with a program to meet their emotional, social,, health, nutritional, and psychological needs.
