Prehistoric cave drawings were painted in a lot of places. They have been found in Altamira, Spain, Lascaux, France, Northern Spain, and southern France. Dating from 30,000 BCE to 10,000 BCE -
3000 BCE
Ancient Egypt
Early Egyptians created a writing system called "hieroglyphics" which was drawn and decorated temple walls. These hieroglyphics had deities, daily life, etc. -
700 BCE
Ancient Greece
They ancient Greeks made a couple everlasting artifacts of their drawings. Their drawings contained pictures of their myths and battles. -
400 BCE
Middle Ages
The Middle Ages made artworks that depicted religious figures and messages derived from the Bible. They used tablets of wood or wax to paint these depictions on, but since these canvases were expensive they often times drew and painted over already painted art work. -

Renaissance
The Renaissance is probably the most known time point for art. During the Renaissance a lot of people made very well known and famous pieces of art like the Last Super or the Mona Lisa and other pieces of art. -
Broque Period
This time period introduced a couple new techniques and utensils for art like water color and ink washing to the mainstream art and got its way into the light during this time period even though it had been there for a very long time prior to the Baroque Period. -
Romanticism
The Romanticism focused its art work around romance and passion and observing the senses. -
The 1800s
Pencils were made during this time period and was the main tool that artists used to create art work and such during this time period. They made art from everyday scenes to dreams. This movement led to many other art movements like Cubism and Expressionism. -
The 1900s
During this time people used manufactured pencils to draw and create artwork. An artist named Edgar Degas pushed the movement for Expressionism. He did this by capturing ballet dancers dancing in very complicated dance positions. -
Pop Art
Pop art contained everyday items and normal things and made them into things with vivid colors and such.
