Inventor of Disc Golf
In 1965, a recreation counselor named George Sappenfield, from Fresno California was playing golf over his summer break from college. While playing a round of golf he realized that it may be really fun for children to play golf using frisbees. After finishing college in 1968 Sappenfield became the Parks and Recreation Supervisor for Conejo in Thousnads Oaks. There he introduced disc golf to adults by planning a tournament and from then one disc golf became a well known sport. -
