Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric survival horror game developed by Behaviour Interactive. Dead by Daylight was released for Microsoft Windows in June 2016, released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in June 2017, released on Nintendo Switch on September 24, 2019, and scheduled for release on iOS and Android in 2020. -

The Last Breath
Along with patches that fixed bugs and improved the use of perks and killers, a new killer, The Nurse, and survivor, Nea Karlsson, and a new map, Disturbed Ward (Crotus Prenn Asylum), are released. The Nurse is the slowest killer, she is even slower than a survivors running speed, which makes her ability become pretty handy. She can teleport, or "blink" as described in game. If you use it correctly, you can hit a survivor after you blink. She is one of the hardest killers to learn how to use. -
The Halloween Chapter
In the spirit of Halloween, the new killer, The Shape, (otherwise known as the infamous Micheal Myers), new survivor, Laurie Strode, and new map, Lampkin Lane, was added to the game. Micheals special ability allows him to be undetected like a normal killer would, he also "stalks" the survivors. If he stalks them long enough, he is granted the ability to down a survivor with one hit, but it only lasts for a certain amount of time. Minor bug fixs were also added in this update. -
Of Flesh and Mud
To end off the year, a new killer, survivor, and map was released. The killer is named The Hag. She is allowed the ability to place traps around the maps. When a survivor triggers the trap, she is granted ability to teleport to the trap and catch the survivor. The new survivor is Ace Visconti. His perks allow survivors to have more luck with getting off hooks and such. The map is the BlackWater Swamp. The name describes the majority of it. There are also ship wrecks and run-down buildings. -
Left Behind
In tribute to the game Left 4 Dead, the survivor William "Bill" Overbeck was introduced. There is no new killer or new map available with this update. There are now new customizations for other survivors. Some patches and bug fixes also came along with the update. -
Spark of Madness
New killer, The Doctor, new survivor, Feng Min, and new map, Léry's Memorial Institute, are added to the game. The Doctor can produce shock waves that causes survivors to scream and give away their position when they are within range of the electric static. Feng Mins' perk allows a 30% chance of a generator that has failed a skill check to not produce any noise when they fail a skillcheck, concealing their position. Bugs fixes and customization for killers are also added within the update. -
A Lullaby for the Dark
A new killer, The Huntress, new survivor, David King, and 2 new maps, The Red Forest and Mother's Dwelling, are released. The Huntress carried 5 hatches,(depending on your add-ons), in which she can throw at survivors when they are out of her reach for a normal hit. -
LeatherFace
LeatherFace, otherwise known as The Cannibal in-game, was introduced. He carries around a massive chainsaw and a sledgehammer. He uses the sledgehammer for normal attacks, but he can use the chainsaw to down a survivor completely, (maybe multiple if there is more than one with-in a very close range). Bug fixes involving animation and perks were brought in with this update as well. -
A Nightmare on Elm Street
The terrifying Freddy Krueger, known as The Nightmare in-game, new survivor, Quentin Smith, and new map, Badham Preschool, are now in the game. Freddy has the ability to pull you into into the "dream realm," in which then allows him to be able to hit a survivor. Survivors can escape the dream realm by messing up on a skill check, another survivor waking them up, or by being hooked. -
The Saw Chapter
As a tribute to the movie series "Saw," a new killer, The Pig (Amanda Young), a new survivor, Detective Tapp, and new map The Game (Gideon Meat Plant) are introduced. The Pig has the ability to crouch and lurk around without the survivors being aware that she can be right behind them You can get out of the crouch state by just standing up, which takes a few seconds, or dashing towards a survivor. She also carries reverse bear traps that after some time, if not removed, will kill the player. -
Curtain Call
Lets all have a laugh shall we? A new killer, The Clown, new survivor, Kate Denson, and a map, Father Campbell's Chapel (Crotus Prenn Asylum), are now available. The Clown carries 5 bottles filled with a purple gas. If he throws a bottle,an area will be covered with the gas. If a survivor come in contact with it, they will scream, giving their position away. They will also slow down and it will blur the vision of the survivor. -
Shattered Bloodline
Time for some jumpscares! The new killer, The Spirit, new survivor, Adam Francis, and new map, Family Residence (Yamaoka Estate), are introduced to the game. The Spirit has the ability to "phase-walk," which allows her to move throughout the map, unseen by any other players. You can tell when she is using her ability when you see her character just stand still, it gives a player a false sense of security. To keep this balanced, she cannot see any other player while she is "phase-walking." -
Darkness Among Us
To end off the year, new killer, The Legion, new survivor, Jeff Johansen, and new map, Mount Ormond Resort (Ormond), are now in-game. As you can see in the image provided, there are 4 reflections instead of just one. Thats because they backstory of The Legion is that it was actually a group of 4 teenagers. You can customize as 1 of 4 teenagers. The Legion can run and vault the same as a survivor, making it difficult to escape them. -
Demise of the Faithful
You feeling a little ill today? New killer, The Plague, new survivor, Jane Romero, and new map, Temple of Purgation (Red Forest). The Plague has the ability to throw up a stream of vomit on generators, pallets, etc. If she throws up on a survivor long enough, it will get them sick and unable to heal back to the health state. Survivors can clense themselves in little pools scattered throughout the map. But by doing so, The Plague can collect the energy and now can hurt the survivors by vomiting. -
Ash vs Evil Dead
In tribute to the movie, The Evil Dead, Dead By Daylight now welcomes new survivor, Ashley "Ash" Williams. One perk that Ash has is called "Flip-Flop." You have an uncanny ability to escape the inevitable.While in dying state, 50% of your recovery progression is converted into wiggle progression when you are picked up by the Killer, to a maximum of 50% total wiggle progression. -
Ghost Face
In tribute to the movie series, Scream, new killer, GhostFace, is introduced to the game. The Ghost Face is a creepy Killer, able to stalk his victims and sneak up silently using his Power, Night Shroud. Affected Survivors will find themselves vulnerable and oblivious to his presence and must use all of their perception and awareness to protect themselves from his approach. -
Stranger Things
In tribute to the series Strangers Things, new killer, The Demogorgon, new survivors, Steve Harrington and Nancy Wheeler, and new map, The Underground Complex (Hawkins National Laboratory), and brought into the game. The Demogorgon can place down portals that allows him to travel through-out the map in a few seconds. This ability is called, "Upside Down." The portals can be deactivated by survivors, but it alerts the killer when they complete the deactivation. -
Cursed Legacy
To end the year,new killer,The Oni,survivor, Yui Kimura and new map,Sanctum of Wrath,are added to the game.The Oni has the ability to collect"blood orbs" from injured survivors.If you collect enough of these orbs,you can use his special ability,"Blood Fury." While Blood Fury is active,The Oni gains 2 abilities,DemonDash and DemonStrike.DemonDash allows him to cover large distances rapidly.DemonStrike has an extended range and successful hits immediately put healthy Survivors in the dying state.
