    Norto Chico being the first of the ancient civilizations on my timeline has less developed trade routes. They primarily traded regionally within the mesoamerican area. Norte Chico was a pre-ceramic civilization that used gourds for vessels.

    Harappan: Indus River Valley Civilization
    The Harappan civilization is located half way around the world and occurred around 500 years after Norte Chico and and about 350 years before Old Kingdom Egypt. One major innovation that occurred for the Harappan civilization is the Bronze age. This civilization successfully used artisanal metal working.

    Old Kingdom: Egypt
    Old Kingdom Egypt is roughly a whole 1000 years before the rise of Mycenaean civilization. This time period in Egypt is known for its massive pyramids that require tons of man power to carefully sculpt each huge stone. They are also known for the strict posture in the sculptures of their leaders.

    The Mycenaean civilization comes about 80 years before the Shang dynasty. Even though the Mycenaean's came much after old Kingdom Egypt, that have similar stone sculptures using a light stone and a relied technique.

    Shang Dynasty China
    Shang Dynasty in China comes just 23 years before Vedic India. Shang Dynasty used a lot of bronze building on the ideas set forth by the Harappan Civilization. The complexity of form and design has greatly increased in the Shang Dynasty.

    Vedic India
    Vedic India comes 200 years before Assyria. Vedic India art is a unique combination of painting and sculpture. Their sculpture is much more fluid and full of movement that Egyptian sculpture. Similarly the paintings depict narratives and movement.

    Assyria Mesopotamia
    Assyria comes roughly 50 years before Zhou dynasty China. Assyrian art greatly follows in the footsteps of both Old Kingdom Egypt and Harappan civilizations. The relief sculpture with a side angle view is characteristic of all three civilizations. Assyria added their own twist by including hair and apparel styles unique to them

    Zhou Dynasty China
    Zhou Dynasty China is about 500 years before Classical Persian Civilization. Zhou Dynasty revitalizes bronze and heavily uses bronze to create weaponry and vessels. Many both these include zoomorphic imagery.

    Classical Persia
    Classic Persia comes 200 years before the rise of Mayan civilization. Classical Persian Art is greatly influenced by the fluidity, movement, and narrative style of Vedic India. They add to the painting hierarchical perspective and the start of atmospheric perspective.

    Mayan civilization started about 80 years before the Byzantine Empire. Mayan art taps into many of the styles of its predecessors. the relief sculptures are similar to that of Old Kingdom Egypt and the Mycenaean. The imagery is fluid like in Classical Persia and Vedic India, and the zoomorphic motifs are like Zhou Dynasty China.

    The Byzantine Empire began 520 years before Abbasid. Mosaics are the most famous of the art from the Byzantine empire. Even though they are different mediums the depiction of leaders harken back to the Old Kingdom Egypt style of stiffness and structure.

    Abbasid comes 50 years before the Viking Age. Abbasid has pottery and relief sculptures with intricate designs. The designs are often repetitive to create a pattern resembling the Mayan style.

    Both the viking age and the Carolingian empire start at 800 AD which is 400 years before the Mongol Empire. Vikings were sea faring people that participated in unique trade because of their travels. Viking art includes zoomorphic imagery like imagery from China and Mesoamerica, with inter-tangling deigns,.

    Both the viking age and the Carolingian empire start at 800 AD which is 400 years before the Mongol Empire the Carolingians had relief carving as well as narrative paintings in the form of illuminated manuscripts. The style of the paintings are stiff like the Old Kingdom bit have fluid drapery like the Vedic.

    Mongol Empire is the last of my timeline of civilizations and it began in 1200 AD. Mongol empire art has some gold and bronze and paintings with a lot of action and movement.
