Blood that flows
In the year of 1553 a Spanish physican named Michael Servetus suggested and discovered that blood flows from one side of the heart to another and through the lungs instead of the wall between the ventricles. -
William Harvey's "Masterwork"
In 1628 a british physician named William Harvey published a document which many call his masterwork. In this document he explains that blood circulates within the body and is pumped within the heart. -

A new blood type
In 1902, colleagues Alfred von Decastello and Adriano Sturli discovered a 4th blood group which is now known as AB, meaning it causes agglutination in the red cells of both 'A' and 'B' groups. -

Collection thats still usable
Francis Peyton Rous and J.R. Turner developed a citrate glucose solution which allows blood to be stored for a few weeks after collection and still remain usable for transfusion. -
The first blood depot
While serving in the U.S. Army, a doctor collected and stored type O blood that had citrate and glucose solution and he established the first blood depot. -
