His microscope was single lensed so it was less of a hassle and easier to use. He guarded his secret to how he made these brilliant microscopes.
  • Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778)

He was one of the most acclaimed scientists in the world when he died in 1778.
  • Matthias Schleiden (1804-1881)

    Matthias Schleiden (1804-1881)
Schleiden was a bottanist that preferred to study under the microscope. He was also trained in law in Hamburg. He concluded that all plants are made up of cells in 1838. He also recognized the importance of the cell nucleus. He died in Frankfurt am Main on June,1881.
  • Theodor Schwann (1810-1882)
