First animated movie

The first animated movie was Humorous Phases of Funny Faces made by J.Stuart Blackton.This movie was silent and in black and white as well.

First animated show

1908

The first animated show is Fantasmagorie it is a french film made in 1908 also made by Emile Cohl.This was the first animated tv show and it was made out of drawings.

Gertie the Dinosaur

Windsor McCay produces the first popular animation film Gertie The Dinosaur.It was also the earliest film to feature a dinosaur.

Rotoscoping

John Bray patents rotoscoping.This device was used to transfer live action film.

Felix the Cat

Otto Mesmer creates Felix the Cat.Felix the cat was one of the first animations ever and also one of the most popular.

Steamboat Willie

Walt Disney Releases Steamboat Willie.Steamboat willie was made around the same time as felix the cat but was way more popular and today we know him as Micky Mouse
