Thaumatrope
The thaumatrope is an optical toy that is basically a coin with a image of, say, leaves on one side and on the other side a tree without leaves.There are two strings attached to the sides When you turn the coin, it looks like the two images are blending together to form one total image. -
Zoetrope
The Zoetrope was a toy invented to animate things, although it didn't actually animate them. As it spun round and round, the Zoetrope showed things as if they were in motion. -
