  • Benjamin Franklin

    In 1731 he founded the first public library. He thought that science could solve problems in life and it cqme from sence, observation, and experimentation. He also established a plan for the English language grammer school in Philadelpia in 1749. School would have to teach English instead of Latin.

    He thought that children learned the most between birth and the age of 3. He didnt think that playing was an idle behavior but that it was just for pleasure activity and you should you they playing to have some type of meaning.
  • Normal Schools

It was made to teach elementary school teachers for comman schools.Both public and private “normals” initially offered a two-year course beyond the secondary level, but in the 20th century teacher-training requirements were extended to a minimum of four years.
  • Thomas Jefferson

    Jefferson believed that libraries a were so integral to individual and institutional education that he designed the university around its library.In 1817 he proposed a plan for a system of limited state public education for males only, in keeping with the times. It depended on public grammar schools, and further education of a limited number of the best students, and those whose parents wanted to pay for them. The university was to be the capstone, available to only the best selected students.

    She opened the first english kindergarden in America. She was 6 when she opened the school but when she was 18 she moved out to make more money when she taught she was able to teacher and manage schools around Boston. She helped the kids with learning games for english and reading and math.

    This act was set up to ensure that schools tech about agiculter and home economics and mechanical arts. There was also a grant that gave them land each state got 30,000 acres.

    Tuskegge Institute was founded by Mr.Washington it was the first institution for Afican Americans. The Institute was made to train teachers and was also used to help students with there acadimic skills and with there vocational trianing. The students built there own build and produced there own facilaties. This is how they taught the kids basic skill to help with African American communities.

    The Montessori Method of education was developed byDr. Maria Montessori. This education learning has to do with scientific observations. This method has been tested over 100 years of success in divers cultures all over the world.

    HEad start was created to help with emotional, social, health nurtitional and pschological need for preschools aged kids for low income families. President Johnson declared a "War on Poverty."

    This program helps children with low income go to school and has federal grants for textbooks and library books, funding for special education centers. It was signed by Lynodon Baines Johnson he belived in "full education oppertunities"
  • Children with Disabilities Act

    The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is a federal law that requires schools to serve the educational needs of eligible students with disabilities.Not every child with learning and attention issues qualifies under IDEA. It was first passed in 1975 but, in 1997 the law was changed the name from EDucation of Handicapped Children Act to IDEA.

    This act helped children with disabilities. Helps set high standers and establishing measurable goals. The act requires the state to help with funding to learn basic skills .
