The French still owned some land to the west of the colonist. in 1803, the French Emperador Napoleón offered to sell the land to de USA for $15 million. By 1848, the country extanted from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. As the New World expanded, the Native American populantion began to suffer. their land and traditions were danger. Around 4,000 Cherokee people died on the way and they called this journey the "Trail of Tears" -
