Xia Dynasty

2200 BCE

The Xia Dynasty was first ruled by Yu the Great.He was the ruler of the Xia Dynasty from 2200-2101 BC.He was famous for the way he introduced flood control.He was one of the few rulers that was honored with the epithet "The Great"

Shang Dynasty

1600 BCE

Most of what we know about the Shang Dynasty comes from oracol bones.It is said that the Shang were united under the control of Cheng Tang and he defeated the evil king Jie of the Xia Dynasty to start up the Shang Dynasty

Shang Dynasty

1558 BCE

The Shang were believed to be the first Chinese Dynasty in history and their time of when they were ruling was about from 1558 BC to 1046 BC.It was believed that it was the second one after the Xia Dynasty but it is now believed that the Xia was never an actual Dynasty

Zhou Dynasty

1046 BCE

The Zhou Dynasty was the longest Dynasty's in China.It was made the year that the Shang had gone down.It lasted from 1046 - 256 BCE. And its Dynasty ended when the city of Chengzhou was captured from the army from the state of Qun in 256 BCE

Zhou Dynasty

1000 BCE

The Zhou expanded their power and their leadership over to the eastern plain.An adherent were some of the people that they granted authority and they were also the ones who established walled forts that were supported by garrison troops.

Confucius/Confucianism

551 BCE

Confucianism was started in China by Master Kong in 551 - 479 BC Confucianism is summed up to be a way of life for people in China.Its is a way of governing, tradition, philosophy a religion.And the spread of all of this had began with Confucius' death.

Buddhism

500 BCE

The origins of Buddhism is based towards one person and his name is Siddhartha Gautama he is the one that basically started the religion of Buddhism.He is the person that everybody would know as Buddha in the 5th century BCE

Daoism

400 BCE

Daoism can also be spelled Taoism.This is also a philosophy that has developed in ancient China.It basic belief of Daoism is living in harmony.The philosophy was created by a man named Laozi..The word Dao's meaning is like a way or a path or Key.it formed into a form of religion in the 4th or 3rd century BCE

Yin and Yang

The Yin and Yang is a symbol that is fundamental concept and philosophy in China and very important to their culture.Its history has gone back very long time it has dated from the third century BCE and maybe even earlier.The main thing about the Yin and Yang is that it says that everything as an opposite of one another.Male or Female, Old or Young, Dark or Light, Heaven or Hello,

Legalism

280 BCE

The definition of Legalism in ancient China was the Philosophy belief that humans would simply do wrong from right because they are motivated from self interest.The philosopher that had created this idea was Han Feizi 280 - 233 BCE.At the time that this was created it was a period in time when China was in warfare and every person fought the other for control.
